Prep
The kindergarten curriculum I will be using is by My Father's World. On their website you will find the option to get the basic curriculum or to get the deluxe curriculum. Since this is my first time doing home schooling I decided to go with the deluxe curriculum. I have learn from others who have used this curriculum before is that the best time to buy is in January when they start having discounts on the overall price of the curriculum. The discount percentage goes down steadily each month until the beginning of the school year. After receiving the kid in the mail I realize I would need some other products to help keep me organized route home schooling. The first thing I purchased was an accordion style organizer to separate each of the weeks. I'm also a very unscheduled person so I decided it daily planner would also be a good idea to keep me on track. The curriculum also suggest other materials together to prepare for the lessons. This list includes pencils, crayons, colored pencils, clay, scissors, tape, glue stick, stapler, ruler, watercolor paint, and paint brushes unlined white paper, colored construction paper, dried beans or buttons (for math) drinking straws (colorful straws are fun 100 for math, more for crafts) index cards (any size) for home schooling only: 26 letter size envelopes and a small box to hold them (for picture cards) Optional materials: magazines (for illustrations both general and nature magazines), 3 ring binder, 29 file folders, wooden craft sticks (or drinking straws) for puppet handles. Most of these other items I purchased through Amazon or at Walmart. If you have a lot of items to pick up at Walmart I like to do this site to store option it saves me time of wandering around Walmart and I can just go to the back and pick up all my items at once.
